About Tara
Paul and I didn't set out to build just another fire and security company. We wanted to create a business that people could trust. A business that genuinely cares about its customers, its team, and the responsibility that comes with protecting lives and property. That's why our strapline,"Life and Property Matters", means so much to us. It reflects what we do every day and why we do it.
My background is in business leadership, finance, and organisational transformation, having spent three decades helping organisations grow, improve and achieve their goals across a range of sectors. What I've learned over the years is that people make the difference. Strong teams, trusted relationships and a shared purpose are what help organisations succeed. I’ve been blessed to have that at various stages in my career to date, but what I love most is that I get to do all of that with Paul, who is my best friend, life partner, co-parent, roommate and now business partner as well.
As CEO, my role is to ensure that our team has everything they need to deliver the level of service our customers deserve. I want Nortec Fire to be known for doing two things well: being technically excellent and genuinely caring about our customers, so we build long-term relationships and take pride in doing the right thing. Understanding our customers is important to me, so I like to hear what's going on in their world, especially over a cuppa. I’ve spent a fair bit of my career in manufacturing, so I have a soft spot and always make time for a factory tour if one is offered.
I try to have downtime by walking our little Australian Labradoodle Ellie (which is pretty much my only exercise), reading as much as I can (although Stephen King doesn’t write quickly enough!), cooking as much as I can eat (especially cake) ... so really, I just try to keep busy when I'm not busy.
